What Truly Nourishes Skin—and What’s Quietly Aging It

Posted by Paige Parsons on

The Truth About Glowing Skin: It Must Be Nourished Inside and Out

If you want your skin and complexion to be vibrant, bouncy, and glowing, there’s one foundational truth you need to understand: skin must be nourished—both topically and internally.

Many clients come to me feeling frustrated. Their skin looks dull, feels dry, or has that sagging, tired quality—even though they’re using products and trying to “do everything right.” The answer to reversing these symptoms isn’t more product or harsher treatments. It’s nourishment.

The next question becomes: what kind of nourishment does your skin actually need to revive itself?

Exfoliation: When Too Much (or Too Little) Becomes a Problem

Exfoliation is one of the most misunderstood steps in skincare.

If you’re exfoliating at home, the product you’re using could actually be doing harm. Many exfoliants are too acidic, stripping away not only dead skin cells but also water and living cells—leading to premature aging.

On the other hand, not exfoliating at all is also an issue. The surface of the skin naturally builds up toxins and debris over time. This buildup should be gently removed using products designed to dissolve only surface-level congestion—not attack healthy skin.

A key warning sign? Products that promise an immediate “tight” feeling. That sensation often means the skin has been over-exfoliated and compromised.

Why Nighttime Skincare Matters Most

Nighttime is the most important time of day to feed your skin.

If you’re using harsh acidic ingredients or heavy alkaline creams at night, your skin cannot properly replenish itself. Healthy morning skin should look and feel:

  • Clear

  • Bouncy

  • Balanced

  • Not greasy, shiny, or dry

This balance comes from using products with a pH between 5.0–5.5, which mirrors the skin’s natural environment.

All GERI G products are lab-tested for pH during final testing and meet organic-grade standards ranging from 77.9% to 98%. Knowing the pH and organic makeup of your products is crucial—it determines how your skin will respond, for better or worse.

Why Facials Need More Than “Fluff”

A good facial should do more than feel relaxing.

All skin requires stimulation through energy and current to trigger real regeneration. While massage can feel wonderful and help move fluid, it cannot create the level of cellular stimulation required for true skin renewal.

Physical regeneration happens when machines are used properly—not through lasers or needles, but through intelligent, controlled energy that encourages the skin to rebuild itself from within.

Nutrition: The Missing Link to Firm, Resilient Skin

Nutrition plays a massive role in how your skin looks and feels.

If your skin feels flat or lifeless, it’s often a sign that muscle tissue support and collagen resistance are low. To correct this, your body needs consistent access to the right nutrients.

That means:

  • A steady supply of high-quality protein

  • 2–4 cups of fresh greens daily, especially with colored roots

  • Fiber-based vegetable carbs like broccoli, cauliflower, celery, and onions

  • Foods rich in L-glutathione, which supports firmness and skin resilience

  • Raw fats such as avocado, olives, goat cheese, Romano cheese, and sheep yogurt

Why Nutrition Is Never One-Size-Fits-All

Nutrition cannot be rubber-stamped.

Everyone has different needs, goals, and challenges. That’s why my clients receive one-on-one nutritional consulting during every visit—to help them stay on track, overcome roadblocks, and remain encouraged as they see real, living results.
