Detoxifying is not a one hit wonder. It must be done properly on a regular basis for it to be beneficial. Surely you have either heard of or tried a fad detox or juice cleanse. While they may be good for a temporary boost, they are not an effective long term solution.
Naturally, your body performs detoxification on a daily basis. It is either aided or hindered by your lifestyle choices. If you implement these 5 steps then you can help aid your body in its efforts. Maintaining these choices can put you in a state of bliss, where you feel that your body is on point and everything is running like a fine-tuned machine.
Here are 5 tips to starting a Daily Detox Life.
1. Being Mindful of Daily Food Sources & Choices
Be on the lookout for common places where chemicals have the potential to be present.
- pesticides-veggies, fruits both fresh and frozen
- plastics such as phthalates and bisphenol A (BPA) in packaging
- heavy metals (such as mercury), and many others in fish
Your diet has a tremendous amount to do with the function and overall health of your body. Clean food sources are a major component to maintaining a detoxified system.
**75% of food sold in grocery stores contain glyphosate. Glyphosate allows for pesticide free crops. Glyphosate has been linked to higher risk of cancer, infertility, autoimmune disease and neuromuscular diseases. Ask yourself, what is feeling great worth to you?
Detoxify With Food
Cruciferous veggies daily = Sulfur containing foods (the 3rd most abundant mineral in your body)
Broccoli, Cauliflower, Arugula, Cabbage, Onions, Brussel Sprouts, Bok Chow.
All of these veggies stimulate liver enzymes to improve your metabolism.
Daily detox foods that I recommend as long as you are not allergic to them are
- beets(this can be beet juice in powder form)
- green apples
These all help to lower inflammation in the body and aide in digestion.
2. Sleep is EVERYTHING-Premature Aging is a Sign of Toxicity.
Increased levels of toxins in the body cause stress. Stress causes other health issues that proceed to break down the body’s ability to fight off aging. The human body needs at least 7-8 hours every night of sound sleep to allow the liver and other organs to detox overnight and remove toxins from the body.
Without sleep, the body is worn down. It does not have the fire power to ward off all of the previously mentioned toxins. Without sleep the body will break down and the physical symptoms of toxicity will appear. Most people brush common symptoms off from lack of sleep. Like under eye dark circles, puffy eyes, weight gain, irritability etc. These symptoms are a reflection of the digestive system not purifying and emptying out. Lack of sleep can prevent the colon from having normal bowel movements and causing excess toxins in the colon to seep out into the body. Making you feel gross and what most people say “toxic”.
3. Sweating daily
Liver, kidneys, skin, and the lymphatic system all need daily detoxification. Detoxification is accomplished by a chain of events. Toxins that enter the body are sent to the liver for a breakdown into a molecule form that can be then sent to the kidneys for removal of the body through excretion.
Our skin, which is the largest organ of the body carries a big load when it comes to detoxification. On average the expected amounts of toxins excreted through the skin is two pounds through perspiration. That is why sweating is so good for you!
Movement and Sweat
Moving in any way shape or form will do wonders for your health. It automatically moves oxygen to the brain via increased blood circulation and it enables the transportation of white blood cells to unleash in the body and search out foreign entities that may lead to toxicity in the body.
Not only does increasing your heart rate help your blood carry oxygen to your brain, but it also enables the transport of white blood cells that fight infection and clears the burden of toxicity in your body.
Sweating on a daily basis is crucial in my option. Without it, we will feel blah because toxins are just floating around in our body disrupting our thoughts, digestion and healthy cell functions. Inducing a sweat after a long day is my go for for regrouping and getting myself ready for the next day.
4. Supplements for daily support
Adding supplements to your daily routine can help to replenish any areas you may be deficient in and help to bring an overall balance to your nutrient levels.
Glutathione helps remove toxins like heavy metals from the liver. It also helps to firm and detoxify the skin. Resulting in a softer, firmer, and smoother texture of the skin.
Wheatgrass, Barley, and Chlorophyll help alkalinize the body and restore balance back into the digestive system via vitamins, minerals, and polyphenols.
5. Household Natural Cleaning Supplies
If you want to go deep into detoxification efforts then pay attention to the cleaning supplies you use. From what you wash your clothes with to what you use to clean the house. These all play a role in your daily detox efforts. Consider switching chemical based cleaners for natural based cleaners like lemon, vinegar and baking soda. All of these nature based disinfectants will not be disrupters in our body. By eliminating all these chemicals that are so readily available and popular today you can make the air that you breathe in your home a lot healthier.
Five Simple Actions To Make A Large Difference
Your body has a lot thrown at it on a daily basis. If it gets overloaded, it will start to show signs. A buildup of toxins will manifest into sluggishness and other physical symptoms, alerting you that there is a problem. Those symptoms can include headaches, body ache, brain fog, emotional tiredness, fatigue, exhaustion, breakouts, eczema, constipation, bloating, soar belly, hair thinning, hair loss, nail discoloration, nail thinning-splitting, wrinkles, sagging skin, gray looking skin, breakouts, thickening of the skin, soars, inflammation of the fingers, water gain and frequent colds and allergies.
Eating with purpose, making health based choices, and removing negativity of all kinds is living a detoxifying life. Supporting the body and mind takes intention daily, but it isn't difficult. Starting with small changes will add up over time to become a whole lifestyle.
